Governance

What Does The Governing Board Do?

The role of a Governing Board of any academy is to provide strategic leadership and accountability in schools. Amongst other things the Governing Board will agree to the following:

  • Aims and ethos
  • Policies
  • Priorities for development
  • Confirm the curriculum on offer
  • Receive reports on performance and act as a critical friend
  • Oversee the condition and safety of the site

At South Wigston High School we have a Governing Board who take a great interest in the school and who take on areas of particular interest.
